Restrictions imposed by the Corona pandemic during the past year meant that physical meetings were replaced by digital meetings, virtual events, webinars, e-coffee and virtual lunches except for the odd lunch n’ talk.
Many companies felt the need to reduce, cancel or postpone their investments in marketing efforts in 2020 due to tightened budgets, shortage of staff due to Covid-19, or the general uncertainty of how long the pandemic would last and its impact on their business.
In Q1 this year I finally started seeing movement again. Many have realized it’s time to get cracking and this is where it may be helpful to bring in a seasoned marketing consultant. Although a lot has had to be done differently this past year, the world is not at stand-still. Tech companies continue to invent and refine their offerings, and those who pause too long to raise awareness for their brand, launch new products or promote their products may be bypassed by competitors. If you wait until the pandemic is over, it may be too late.
I believe many companies now need to focus on the following areas:
Revise Brand Strategy & Marketing Plans: Now is a good time to reassess your company’s position in the market, what you stand for and what kind of company you want to be. Build a stronger brand for the future. Strong brands tend to survive a crisis better than unknown or weak brands. A strong brand opens doors, functions as a badge of trust, makes potential partners want to collaborate with you, customers buy from you and great talent want to work for you. Need help figuring out what do do?

Digital Change Management | Resources, Tools, Processes, Internal Communication, Digital Marketing: The pandemic has forced many to work from home which accelerated the need for digitalization. Most people got used to Zoom and Teams meetings, but how about other tools, processes and communications to facilitate new digital ways of working? Many believe that we will never go back to a purely office-based workforce, but instead see a hybrid model where a majority of the staff continues to work from home several days a week. As your company prepares to embrace the digital workplace, you need to ensure staff remains productive and collaborative, has the right tools and processes to do their work, knows how to use them and feels motivated to learn new ways of working, and leverages digital marketing techniques and channels to effectively reach existing and new audiences. Why not get help from someone who’s been through this before?
