It’s never too late to learn more about how to market and sell better.

At a webinar yesterday with Vaam, participants learned how to "Increase your sales through Social Selling” from the highly energetic Josef Fallesen, Founder and CEO of Vaam.

Some take-aways and recommendations from the session:

  • Be active on LinkedIn – post regularly (1-3 times/week) – continuity is key to gain visibility and stay top of mind among your contacts

  • Mix posts with text, images and video

  • Post in the morning (weekdays 8-11am), Tuesdays are generally the best day – this is when people are most active on LinkedIn

  • Posts with external links will reduce your reach by 2x-2.5x

    • However helpful the links are to the reader of the content, LinkedIn unfortunately penalizes you for leading the reader away from the LinkedIn platform

    • Many work around this by placing the external link in the comments (just make sure you’re not the first one to comment on your own post)

    • You can also place the link in an image or PDF in the post

  • Define your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and make sure your content posts are relevant to your target audience’s interests / problems / concerns

  • Use Sales Navigator to conduct searches and create leads lists based on your ICP so that you can get alerts when prospects among your ICP’s post something – this will allow you to comment/interact with your ICP and become top of mind

  • Use a social selling tool like Vaam (has a plug-in for LinkedIn) to set up a simple sales process to effectively target your ICP’s with a combo of LinkedIn, mail and video

Good luck!
